The collection “The Madhubani Love” draws inspiration from the timeless Madhubani paintings — a traditional art form rooted in the cultural heritage of Bihar.

Each piece in this series represents one of the five stages of love described across various Indian scriptures.

This kurta illustrates the second stage of love: Kaamna (Desire).

In the Bhagavad Gita (2.62–63), Kaamna represents the moment when attraction evolves into desire. It is the stage where the mind begins to form expectations — seeking comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging in the other. Kaamna reflects a quiet longing, a gentle wish to hold on to what the heart finds beautiful.

Designed to capture the essence of Kaamna, this deep-maroon kurta brings together refined silhouettes and expressive artistry.

The gentle flare of the A-line form creates an elegant, elongated flow, while the wrap-inspired neckline frames the torso with quiet intention. Along the left panel, rich Madhubani-inspired embroidery unfolds like a rising longing—lush blooms, intertwined vines, and two mirrored birds positioned close, yet not touching. Their poised stillness reflects the tender moment when desire begins to form, where admiration shifts into expectation.

The two birds face each other closely with curved bodies, showing a magnetic pull that reflects rising Kaamna (desire). The vibrant flowers and intertwined vines around them symbolize emotions intensifying and spreading, capturing the moment when attraction deepens into longing—like two souls drifting towards each other even before they realize it themselves.

Three-quarter sleeves balance tradition with modern clarity, letting the intricate artwork draw the eye without overwhelming the silhouette. The handcrafted tassel tie adds a graceful detail, subtly enhancing the drape and movement of the kurta as it responds to each step.

Paired with straight-fit trousers in the same deep hue, the look feels complete, composed, and emotionally resonant.

This is more than attire—it is a symbol of yearning, anticipation, and the gentle bloom of desire taking shape.
